R&B singer K. Michelle, rapper Rasheeda and 42-year-old aspiring singer Karly Red are covering this week’s issue of Rolling Out magazine. Just like the show, this cover looks low-budget and a HAWK mess! Did they even give the girls a stylist for this shoot or did they bring their own clothes? It is my opinion to say that K. Michelle is very talented. If she gets with the right people, she can have a bright future ahead of her. Rasheeda will never reach super-stardom. She should focus more on her family. No need to get into much detail, if you watched the first season of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, you are most likely to be aware of the situation about singer K. Michelle. She mentioned that she was repeatedly abused by her ex-boyfriend who was her label CEO and an A&R at Jive (RCA). Throughout the show, K. Michelle stuck by her story and to be honest with you, I believe her. But like some females, K. Michelle did not file charges because she wanted to protect her image and was so in love with the man who was abusing her. K. Michelle NEVER identified the man or gave any clues to who he was on the show. When the blogs reported that it was Memphitz who his currently married to Lil Wayne’s ex-wife and daughter’s mother Toya, things went from bad to worse. I guess, Memphitz felt guilty and couldn’t take the pressure anymore. Not only did Memphitz allegedly abuse K. Michelle, he also spent up all of her money, left her broke and almost ruined her music career. With a lot of threatening texts and emails from Memphitz, K. Michelle was able to get out of her contract without owning Jive anything. K. Michelle did say Memphitz name in interviews and answered questions about him when she was asked. They also got into a heated argument via social networking Twitter.

Now that the season is over and the reunion has wrapped, Memphitz struggling image has been tainted. He has filed a multimillion dollar lawsuit against Viacom International, NFGTC Inc, K. Michelle and Mona Scott Young’s Monami Entertainment. He is claiming that K. Michelle’s accusations of domestic violence are fabricated and the show gave her a “worldwide platform” for her to “assassinate his character”. This guy must have fallen and bumped his head! He is asking for $1 per viewer (3-4 million viewers) per episode that his character has been defamed, which totals 12 episodes and the two reunions shows.

NEXT PAGE: A STATEMENT FROM MEMPHITZ & HIS ATTORNEY 

Memphitz said in a statement:

“My family and I have suffered tremendously while VH-1, Monami Ent., and the other companies provided a worldwide platform for K. Michelle to repeatedly assassinate my character. The filing of this suit is to compensate for the irreparable damage that has been done to my reputation and to deter these companies from doing such future harm to others.”

And his attorney, Conti J. Moore said:

“K. Michelle has taken full advantage of society’s tendency to accept claims of domestic violence as always being true, even in the absence of proof.  The only abuse that actually occurred is the malicious and calculated pattern of vicious lies Ms. Pate has assailed for the purpose of fabricating a compelling story line in an attempt to ruin my client’s name.”

“Domestic violence is an issue of serious nature, often having grave consequences for true victims with whom we all sympathize. However, it is unconscionable for one to play on the sympathies of the masses by levying false accusations of such heinous acts against an innocent party, simply for the sake of entertainment or for purported career advancement. After reviewing the evidence in this matter, we are prepared to litigate this case to the fullest extent of the law to seek justice for our client and to restore his name and professional reputation.”

Finally, someone capitalized off of Love & Hip Hop! Singer K. Michelle (was formerly signed to Jive Records but was let out of her contractual agreement because she was allegedly abused by her former boyfriend and Jive’s A&R Memphitz) has signed a major record deal with Warner Bros Records. The Southern R&B/Soul singer told Singer Room, “I’m just really blessed to get a second chance. I have so much to sing about and so many stories to tell. I may not be the most polished or prissy R&B singer, but I do feel that I am the voice of a lot of women who don’t have a voice.”

Over the years, K. Michelle released three mixtapes including, What’s the 901?, For Colored Girls/Pre-Pain Medicine and Signed, Sealed, and Delivered. She has also collaborated with the likes of R. Kelly, Usher, Gucci Mane, and Missy Elliott. Congrats K. Michelle, welcome to the music industry, give it all you have and take your talents pass the stars.

After seeing these pictures, I’m assuming NBA player J.R. Smith of the New York Knicks and singer/reality star K. Michelle are back together. The twosome was spotted sexing it up at Kiss & Fly nightclub in NYC. K. Michelle held her signing party (for her new deal with Warner Bros ) at the Manhattan unprecedented nightclub. J.R. Smith was photo’d feeling on K. Michelle’s booty. They were boo’d up! In the past, J.R. admitted that he had a crush on the singer. During a recent interview with a New York radio station, (I will not say the station name because they don’t support New York artists/up & coming artists) K Michelle openly admitted that she and J.R. had something going on, which ended abruptly, and she also mentioned that she wanted him back. Well, it looks like she got him back.  It’s great to see them together just before the holidays.

Atlantic Records R&B songstress K. Michelle released her highly anticipated debut, Rebellious Soul yesterday Tuesday (August 13). The Memphis, Tennessee breed is currently living in NYC and she took Manhattan by storm in the last two days. The “V.S.O.P.” singer held a mini concert on B.E.T. ‘106 & Park‘, appeared on NY radio stations Hot 97 and Power 105, hosted a meet & greet in the Bronx and last night, she held her album released party at the posh Beauty & Essex and G Lounge in Chelsea. Singers Ne-Yo, Bridget Kelly, Elle Varner & Tiara Thomas were in attendance. It’s so good to see so many talented R&B singers in one room. Radio host Angela Yee, music executive Irv Gotti and Mike Kyser (President of Black Music for Atlantic Records) were also present. I am so proud of K. Michelle. A lot of people didn’t believe in her but I did. When other bloggers stopped blogging about her, I continued to blog about and support her. She opted for a casual look dressed in a black leather jacket layered over a crop top which she paired with ripped denim jeans. There’s a lot of them, but I think people are starting to see. You’d think I just pop off, but you don’t see I’ve had a full conversation with this individual. You just see me curse them out. You know it’s gotta be a villain every season. Somebody’s got to bring the ratings. It falls on me; I take it. It is what it is. But I think people need to understand that I’m not always angry. I’m very calm. My manager always says I’m the most giving person out of any artist that he’s ever met. I will do anything for anybody.

What’s your show going to be like?
The real me.

I thought we saw the real you.
No, you see the angry me, but this show is more my move to New York. Like, I’m just getting in my house this week in New York. Now we found the furniture—all of this kind of stuff, and just my growth as an artist and me dating again and just me being a mother and my real friends, not the friends that I’ve been put with.

Earlier in the month, New York’s Power 105.1 celebrated their ‘2013 Powerhouse‘ concert which was presented by Play Gig-it. The sold-out event was held at the Barclays Center in Downtown, Brooklyn.

Even though the fellas owned the night, Atlantic Records R&B singer K. Michelle held it down for the ladies during her soulful set. The “Can’t Raise A Man” singer took the stage and performed in a black leather catsuit which she matched with $280 Jeffrey Campbell Over The Knee Boots – Purdy High Heel.
